Strutts Community Centre

We are Hayley Lamb and Louise Harris of Haylo Theatre. We are a two-woman theatre company who use the arts to explore and engage with issues affecting our communities. Multi-agency working within the health and social care sector has enabled us to explore ways in which the arts can connect with people on an emotive human level. We communicate through theatre, outside of the conventional theatre space.

Over the Garden Fence. This play encourages a person-centred approach and highlights the individual behind a diagnosis of dementia. 'Over the Garden Fence' follows the story of Annabelle and her Gran Dolly. Annabelle and the audience are taken on a nostalgic journey through Grans life, sharing memories of happiness, sorrow and joy. This fast paced, uplifting and comical exploration into family, life and relationships promotes an awareness of dementia that is accessible to all.

To meet the ever changing current situation we have also adapted our work online, 'Swimming with Memories' which is a virtual version of 'Over the Garden Fence' and is also available for booking.
